About us
As a part of the Dieffenbacher Group, MAIER designs, manufactures and offers wood yards and machines for the processing of wood in the PB, MDF, OSB and WPC/WFC industry, in pelletizing and biomass plants as well as the utilization of industrial waste wood and reclaimed timber.
The delivery program comprises: complete wood yards, debarker, drum chippers, crushers, beating rotors, beating flakers, hammer mills, knife ring flakers, Super-PB and OSB flakers, automatic cleaning and grinding machines, fine mills, separating and fractioning systems.
Furthermore MAIER provides the maintenance and after sales service with reliable support of high quality wear and spare parts for existing machines as well as the detailed (re-)engineering and modernisation of machines and complete plant sections, including required pre-tests in the Dieffenbacher Technical Center.

MAIER Wood Yard Technology
MAIER wood yard technology is based on the latest requirements for effective and flexible management of wood resources.
The product range comprises mechanical storage, dosing and conveying systems which are combined in tailor-made solutions for effective handling for all kind of wood assortments.
MAIER Drum Chipper
MAIER Drum Chippers produce high-quality chips for PB, MDF, OSB and pellet plants. The HRL chippers up to 2400 mm rotor diameter can reach capacities of up to 190 t/h b.d. Chippers, designed for production of MAXI-chips, MICRO-chips and BIOMASS are equipped with especially designed rotors and screens. Chip lengths of 4-180 mm are possible. Aggressively shaped infeed rollers enable optimal feeding of all wood assortments. Numerous chippers have been working 24/7 for decades.
MAIER Knife Ring Flaker
MAIER Knife Ring Flakers produce uniform high-quality flakes or strands for standard PB, Super PB (super strong or low density boards), OSB/FOSB, pellet and briquette plants, processing chips of different sizes and various wood assortments. Flakers, equipped with FlowOptimizer, can reach high capacities up to 23 t/h b.d., by low energy consumption and extended service life of wear parts. Static improved knife ring and rotor with precise bearing system ensure superior flake quality. Flakers can be equipped with knife rings and rotors of various designs, as well as individual cutting speeds to be perfectly tailored to customer needs.
MAIER Knife Ring Maintenance Center
The Knife Ring Maintenance Center is an automated multimodular system enabling quick resharpening and precise adjustment of different knife ring types with various diameter and cutting geometries. The system measures, cleans and disassembles the knife packages before analyzing the wear on the knives and sharpening them. After corresponding adjustment, the knife packages are remounted in the knife ring.
MAIER Impact Mill
MAIER Impact Mills enable continuous processing of pre-sized wood into defined homogeneous wooden powder. The machine is preferably used for the processing of screened oversize/coarse flakes for the surface layer in PB and FOSB production as well as for the production of wood dust for combustion.
The material is milled and calibrated in the robust grinding chamber between the fast rotating rotor and screen-grinding ring, consisting of wear-resistant grinding track and special fine-hole screen.
Grinding track segments and their configuration are adaptable to the input material. Special fine hole screens with different mesh sizes are applicable. Fast screen exchange is possible without removing the complete grinding ring. Material fineness degree is easily adjustable, ensuring high application flexibility.
Mill is installed on-floor with lateral pneumatic product discharge. Execution according to ATEX requirements is possible.
